Finally Finished

Well.........Today I decided that I would complete my fountain that I started a few months ago....

Some assembly required....

All of the parts for my fountain are from yard sales me and the LOML
have gone to...

I needed just the right items to complete it........I guess that is why it took so long to complete......the initial fountain was going to be something simple, with me being the Simple Man......but, sometimes you have to go all out........

So to my friends I present to you.......(drum roll)..........

Howdy

Howdy fellow members of the blog nation. I have not done a blog since January and figured it was time to do one. The fountain that was going to be completed by Valentine's Day is still under construction with some major changes since the original conception. Tomorrow I will have my hair cut and donate it to Locks of Love, the LOML (Love of my Life) will be taking pictures I am sure to share on her blog. Once it is cut I will start again growing it out. Lot's to talk about but so much to do around the house today. Good luck Griffen on your Trike a Thon, I know you will do well.

Evolution of a simple fountain

I have been wanting a fountain for the front yard and have priced a few. WOW they are expensive. So I told the LOML (Love of My Life) Bonnie that I was going to build one. Now came the decision of something fancy, something that I had seen or something simple. With me being the Simple Man the answer was simple.
We found this tub at a yard sale and talked about using it as a planter or maybe washing the dogs. After looking at it I decided it would be the start of a simple yard fountain.

It is amazing what you can find at yard sales. I found this hand pump still in the box and never used for $12. The rusty cogs in my simple brain started turning. I told the LOML that I could use the pump as part of the fountain.

Let the construction begin...........

Building the base for the pump

Stay tuned for updates on the construction of my Simple Fountain....

Boy's Night Out

Me and my Grandson, CJ attended a Monster Truck Spectacular at the Lakeland Center in Lakeland, Florida. The show included Monster Trucks of course along with Quad Races and Show Trucks.

This is a picture of the rig they haul Bigfoot in when
they travel around the country.
This is CJ with Tiffany one of the girls that races the Quads.

This is CJ with Dan Runte and his assistant.
Dan drives the World Famous Bigfoot.

This is Jim Jack, the driver of Reptoid with CJ.

This is the finale, Bigfoot beats Reptoid

For those of us who are kids at heart, this was a fun time for all in attendance. CJ had to visit the merchandise table and Pop walked away with money left.

In Memory of Miss Piggy

You brought joy and smiles to our family with the way you acted. Expecially when it was time to go for a ride, you were the first one ready to go. When you would do your exercise and make monster sounds. You were always full of kisses and loved to share them. From the first time you jumped in my lap and you kissed me in the face you became a part of our family. When I would fix my lunch in the morning and you would always be there to have your wunch. You will never be forgotten and be truly missed. You will always be the Most Beautiful Little Girl in the World. I Love You.....
This is Miss Piggy and me sleeping in front of the tv.

Tuesday

Well..........I reported for jury duty and was very disappointed. I was selected for a judge and the trial was resolved without a jury. We sat around for 2 hours waitin' to see if we were needed by any of the other judges. They finally released us around 11:00. To me it was a wasted day.

Monday

Well......today I have the chance to perform a duty bestowed on us by our wonderful government, jury duty. I have never been called for jury duty and I am probably one of the few people in the world that actually wants to do it. I might change my mind once I arrive and have to wait to be selected but I will finally know what actually happens.

Monday

Well.......it looks like we have a hurricane heading this way. I hope it is not a repeat of 2004 when we had 3 hurricanes hit Central Florida. The forecast is for it to head straight up the state but that can change in the blink of an eye.

Thursday

Sittin' here, after a nice supper at Olive Garden where me and the Love of my Life Bonnie had the garlic shrimp and pasta with lemon cream chesse cake for dessert. I have always wanted to own my own resturant. My menu would consist of anything you could imagine........fried tater sandwich, fried weenies, mayonaise and potato chip sandwich. All the things you have had to eat throughout your life. I would have no printed menus, people could come in and order whatever they want. While sittin' at Olive Garden I came up with another comcept to my resturant, a rest area with easy chairs and tv's, a room with beds for those that just want to lay down and of course a place to 'waller up'. What is 'waller up' you may ask? This would be a place out back under a shade tree with a mud hole, people could just 'waller up' and relax.......

Sunday

Well..........I got everything done today that I wanted to do. mounted a new mail box, repaired 3 windows and spent time with my wife watching the NASCAR race. We did not win the NASCAR pool at work because we had Boby Labonte and Kurt Busch, but Bonnie's favorite driver won, Carl Edwards......Tomorrow starts another busy week for the Simple Man but I am looking forward to next weekend already to spend time with the Grand Kids.........probably take CJ school shopping, something I have never done. But I think it will be enjoyable.

Friday

Finally it's Friday and we have a big decision to make. Do we order pizza or fry catfish, american fries and hush puppies for supper. Me and Bonnie were going to Tampa tonight to a American Diabetes Party for her walk she is doing, but it is raining in that area and there are too many idiots on the roads when it rains. Pizza or fish????? Thought about going to a movie but nothing is on that is any good. Fish or pizza????? So I decided to blog to try to help me decide. Fish Pizza ??? Wait that would be anchovies and I don't like anchovies on my pizza. We are planning on going to St. Cloud tomorrow and see Wade and Christina, probably hit yard sales on the way. Wait, if I cook fish I will have to clean up the mess, hummmmm. Pizza it is.

Thursday's Tid-Bit

Welllllll.........today is Thursday. As you all know an I have been told that I am too politically correct at times.......here goes another one. People who live in Italy speak Italian, People from France speak French, People from Japan speak Japenese. Can you see where I am going with this? We live in the greatest country in the world, The United States of America. Why do we speak English and not AMERICAN?!!!!!!!

Wednesday' Waggles

It's HOT!!!and I am so glad to be home so I can relax and get ready for tomorrow. It will probably as HOT tomorrow as today but I will cross that bridge when I come to it. I have a question that might require thought but then again maybe not.

The question: When we are pumping gas into our vehicles, how do we know the pumps are accurate. You may see the stickers on the pumps where they have been checked by the State, but remember the State as well as other branches of the government set the gas prices.....HUMMMMM

Saturday's Adventure

Woke up early this morning to go to the Ledger in Lakeland for their crepe myrtle sale. Miss Piggy and Max decided they would join us for the ride. We selected 3 'Muskogee' crepe myrtles and brought them back home and planted them........But, the adventure does not stop there, we are going to Dundee for a health fair. I am sure if we see any yard sale signs on the way that the truck will automatically turn toward the sign.....
